Middle School Valedictorian and Salutatorian Announced

Having earned the highest academic average during his time as a student at Fork Union Military Academy's Middle School, Cadet Blake Chiovaro is this year's 8th grade class Valedictorian. Blake is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard and Cathy Chiovaro of Palmyra, VA. Completing his third year at the Academy, Blake is a day student in the Middle School Cadet Corps.  During each of his years at the Middle School, Blake has earned year-end President's List/Dean's List and Exemplary Conduct.  For the past two years, Blake has qualified for the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program.  He was recognized for earning the highest academic average in the 6th grade, and he tied for the highest average in the 7th grade.  He was also awarded the Citizenship Award for the 7th grade.  Last year, Blake was inducted into the Academy's Junior National Honor Society.  Besides being awarded the Valedictorian award at this year's recent Middle School graduation ceremony, Blake was also awarded the Scott A. Feathers Academic Achievement Award for his outstanding classroom performance.  During the past three years at the Middle School, Blake has lettered in Middle School soccer and basketball, and he participated on the nationally-ranked orienteering squad.  Blake was a member of the Middle School's Dillard Guard during his 6th and 7th grade years.

The Salutatorian of the 8th grade class at Fork Union Military Academy's Middle School is Cadet Brennan Stone. Brennan has attended the Middle School as a day student for the past three years. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Trichelle Stone of Dillwyn, VA. Through his 3 years at Fork Union, Brennan has earned President's/Dean's List and Exemplary Conduct each year. He was inducted into the Academy's Junior National Honor Society last year. Also last year, Brennan tied for having the highest academic average in the 7th grade. Brennan qualified this year for the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program. Since being a cadet at the Academy, Brennan has lettered in Middle School soccer, basketball, and lacrosse, and he has participated on the nationally ranked orienteering squad for the past three years. He was a member of the Academy's Dillard Guard during his 6th and 7th grade years, and this year he has been involved in Boy Scouts and the Academy's PIER Club.
